Stefan Gosepath becomes Professor of Political Theory

Stefan Gosepath has accepted the post as professor of international political theory within the Cluster of Excellence „The Formation of Normative Orders“ with the beginning of the summer semester 2009. Within the Cluster’s research programme, Professor Gosepath will focus on fundamental philosophical topics such as reason, normativity and ethics as well as on more practical issues of political theory relating to justice, equality and human rights.
Stefan Gosepath studied philosophy, history and German language and literature at the universities of Tübingen, Berlin (Free University) and Harvard. After he received his PhD in 1992 he worked as a research assistant at Berlin University of the Arts. Gosepath was visiting researcher at Columbia University, New York University and Harvard University before he received his Habilitation in 2002. After holding temporary professorships in Gießen, Vienna and Potsdam, Gosepath became Professor of Philosophy at the University of Gießen (2004-07) and Professor of Political Theory and Philosophy at the University of Bremen (2007-09).
