New Professor for Macroeconomics and Development: Nicola Fuchs-Schündeln

Nicola Fuchs-Schündeln, appointed professor of macroeconomics and development, joins the Cluster from Harvard University in July 2009.

Fuchs-Schündeln’s research focuses on heterogeneous preferences and the formation of economic preferences, as well as on household consumption and saving behaviour.

In her current research, she analyses the effect of the economic system on preferences for redistribution, and utilises the event of German reunification to test life-cycle consumption and labor supply theories.

Nicola Fuchs-Schündeln, born in 1972, studied economics and Latin American studies at the University of Cologne and received her Ph.D. in economics from Yale University in 2004. From 2004 to 2009, she was an assistant professor of economics at Harvard University.
