Funding for new Cluster building secured

The Joint Science Conference (GWK) has decided to fund the new research building of the Cluster of Excellence “The Formation of Normative Orders” within the joint research promotion by the Federal Government and the Länder.The GWK thereby accepted a recommendation of the Wissenschaftsrat (German Council of Science and Humanities), which had approved the 8.25 million Euro construction project earlier this year.
For the joint research promotion 17 out of 52 submitted projects were proposed by the Wissenschaftsrat. The application of the Cluster of Excellence was ranked on position three by the Council, being the only project in the field of humanities which was approved.
The new research building, which will add over 2000 square metres of space to the new Campus Westend, is scheduled to open in 2010.
