First "Frankfurter Stadtgespräch" in the Kunstverein
24 February 2010
Tom Königs and Reinhard Schmidt on the financial crisis and its consequences

‘Frankfurt Encounters’ is the title of the new discussion series of the Cluster of Excellence 'The Formation of Normative Orders'. On each occasion, the research network and the Frankfurter Kunstverein will invite two outstanding figures from politics, economics or culture at irregular intervals to reflect upon and discuss current social questions.
The series will begin on March 11 with the topic 'After the Crisis? Learning from the Financial Crisis: What Happened and What Is Still to Come'. Tom Koenigs, long-serving Frankfurt city treasurer and human rights expert, and Reinhard H. Schmidt, Professor of International Banking and Finance at the Goethe University Frankfurt, will examine the impacts of the financial crisis. In addition to the consequences that (should) follow from the crisis for the financial system, the discussion will also address the consequences for society as a whole.
The first Frankfurt Encounter will take place on 11 March, 2010 in the Café of the Frankurter Kunstverein, Steinernes Haus am Römerberg, Markt 44. The event will begin at 7.30pm. Admission is free.
