FRCPS Chandra Talpade Mohanty Reading Group

The Frankfurt Research Center for Postcolonial Studies (FRCPS) is delighted to welcome you to the Chandra Talpade Mohanty reading group in preparation of Chandra Talpade Mohanty’s visit as Angela Davis Guest Professor for International Gender and Diversity Studies at the Cornelia Goethe Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (CGC) in December 2015.
We will read select texts of Chandra Talpade Mohanty and discuss the influence of her work for Critical Race theory, Feminist Theory as well as Postcolonial Studies. A particular focus will lie on her intersectional analysis of the co-constitutiveness of capitalist, racist and sexist forms of oppression as well as her focus on the possibilities of transnational feminist alliances.
The reader will be made available online and it is expected that you have prepared in advance the texts to be discussed. The link to the reader will be sent to all that have registered.
