The participants in this workshop reflect on the notion of political progress and the normative constraints involved in conceiving of and measuring progress. The main topic of debate is how the notion of political progress relates to understanding political development as tied by specific normative constraints, understood as a development toward an ideal of justice, as normative constraints on the process or discourse, or as the promotion of pragmatic concerns.
