Abstract: In her study Wiedl analyses an impressively large amount of German Salafi literature and online lectures. She traces dynamic processes of fragmentation within German Salafism as well as pragmatic adaptions in the Salafi discourses to the German context. Her book is an excellent introduction to Salafism in Germany and certainly the best history of its beginning in the country. It is a major contribution to the research on Islamic missionary movements in the West and highly relevant for people engaged in interreligious dialogue.
