Global Health Justice Postdoctoral Programme
Research Centre “Normative Orders” at Goethe University Frankfurt
Duration and Starting Date: 10 Months, starting on October 1st 2025.
The Global Health Justice Postdoctoral Programme, funded by Höppsche Stiftung and directed by Prof. Dr. Rainer Forst and Prof. Dr. Darrel Moellendorf at the University of Frankfurt, is seeking to appoint up to two post-doctoral fellows for the academic year 2025/2026. The Fellows will be part of the Frankfurt academic community, especially of the Normative Orders Research Network.
Candidates should have completed a doctorate in philosophy or the social sciences and should have proven potential to conduct and publish research at an international level. Candidates‘ research should fall within the programme’s areas of focus, especially questions of health and justice, whether on a national or a global level – for example access to medicine, gender disparities in health provision, sustainable development goals, climate change and health, the human right to health, etc.
Conditions of Award
We offer a grant of 2,400€/month. The grant is tax-free in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 3 no. 44 EStG (German Income Tax Act).
Additional benefits include a return trip (to a max. of 2,000€) from the fellows’ home town to Frankfurt and a mission allowance of 2,000€. Health insurance and accommodation expenses are not included in the package, although assistance in purchasing a suitable German health insurance will be provided.
Fellows will be provided with office space at Normative Orders. They will be expected to take an active part in the Center’s activities and workshops, and to present their ongoing research to the members of the Center. Fellows are expected to reside in the Frankfurt area for the whole duration of their stay.

Claus Wisser Fellowships at Normative Orders
Duration and Starting Date: 10 Months, starting on October 1st 2025.
The Claus Wisser Fellowship Fund at Normative Orders, established by the late Claus Wisser and the Pro Universitate Foundation (in cooperation with the Friends of the University), directed by Prof. Dr. Rainer Forst and Prof. Dr. Nicole Deitelhoff, is seeking to appoint up to two post-doctoral fellows for the academic year 2025/2026. The theme of this year is The Future of Democracy. The Fellows will be part of the Frankfurt academic community, especially of the Normative Orders Research Network.
Candidates should have completed a doctorate in the humanities or the social sciences and should have proven potential to conduct and publish top research at an international level.
Conditions of Award

Duration and Starting Date: 10 Months, starting on October 1st 2025.
The Research Network Justitia Center for Advanced Studies, funded by the Alfons and Gertrud Kassel-Stiftung and the Professorship of Political Theory and Philosophy directed by Prof. Dr. Rainer Forst at Goethe University Frankfurt, is seeking to appoint up to two post-doctoral fellows in political theory/political philosophy for the academic year 2024/2025. The Fellows will be hosted by Frankfurt University at its Institute for Advanced Studies in Bad Homburg (near Frankfurt) and will be part of the Frankfurt academic community, especially of the Normative Orders Research Center.
Candidates should have completed a doctorate in political theory/political philosophy and should have proven potential to conduct and publish research at an international level. Candidates‘ research should fall within the Center’s areas of focus, especially questions of the current crisis of democracy.

Justitia Center for Advanced Studies Post-doc Fellowships: Conditions of Award

Fellows will be provided with office space at the University’s Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at Bad Homburg (Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften). Fellows who wish to live at the Institute will be offered the opportunity to rent one of the Institute’s flats (for more
information, see: Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften) at their own cost. Fellows who wish to live in Frankfurt will receive some assistance in finding a suitable accommodation.
Fellows will be expected to take an active part in the Center’s activities and workshops, and to present their ongoing research to the members of the Center in its weekly research seminar at Normative Orders in Frankfurt.
Fellows are expected to reside in Frankfurt (or Bad Homburg) for the whole duration of their stay.
